0245 Tinea pallescentella
0373 Currant Clearwing Synanthedon tipuliformis
New County Record - found at Derwenlas (AT). There are few other records of this clothes moth species in north Wales.
19-11-15
Newtown (SCC). A 'nationally scarce B' that is probably rather overlooked due to its secretive habits. Last recorded in the county in 1978.
02-07-15

0030 Ectoedemia arcuatella
1973 Death's Head Hawk-moth Acherontia atropos
1068 Celypha rivulana

05-09-15
This impressive migrant species was found on a patio by day in Pont Robert (JJK). A rare visitor to the county, with the last county record from 2010.
30-08-15
New County Record - a individual came to MV light at an MMG event at Lake Glaslyn, a moorland reserve. Confirmed by dissection (DBo).
19-08-15
2080 Square-spot Dart Euxoa obelisca
0889a Mompha bradleyi
0252 Ochsenheimeria urella
New County Record - an individual was caught at Middletown and checked by dissection (DBo). Other county records dating back to 2009, previously attributed to White-line Dart, Euxoa tritici, are now also thought to belong to this species. Square-spot Dart is a 'Nationally Scarce B' species said to be usually found on rocky coastlines, something likely to have contributed to the confusion in the recent records.

2115 Rosy Marsh Moth Coenophila subrosea
1205a Spilonota laricana

17-08-15
Two came to MV traps at Cors Dyfi (DBo & PRW). This 'red data book' species is probably the rarest moth on the county list. It was last recorded in 2011 (at the same site). It is yet to be established if the species is breeding within VC47.
17-08-15
New County Record - two came to light at Hafren Forest (DBo). A species which was formerly considered to be merely a form of Spilonota ocellana and can be difficult to separate. This species is associated with larch.
12-08-15
2082 Garden Dart Euxoa nigricans
1804 Barred Rivulet Perizoma bifaciata
0583 Coleophora tamesis

01-07-15
New County Record - Two came to light during a very warm night at Glaslyn and were checked by dissection (DBo). This leaf-miner feeds on bilberry, occuring on moorland sites and as a result is likely to be very overlooked.
30-06-15
0577 Coleophora artemisicolella
0309 Parornix torquillella
0601 Elachista albifrontella
New County Record - Came to light at Middletown and identified by dissection (DBo). There are very few records of this species - which is associated with mugwort - in north Wales.

0794 Prolita sexpunctella
0012 Eriocrania sangii
New County Record - an individual came to light near Newtown (PE). It was recorded during a spell of migrant activity, when a large influx of the species had been reported across the UK.

11-06-15
New County Record - one came to light during an MMG event in the Hafren Forest (PRW et al). This is one of a number of closely related species which have larvae that mine birch leaves. This individual, a male, was identified by dissection (DBo).
